What will 2013 bring to Augusta County and all of Virginia?.......
There is already "Rumblings" that one of those who did not make the last "BOS-cut" will be making that run again...
And what about a "Special Appointment" for that somebody who has been praising a present BOS member whenever they get a chance but in the past had always been on the other side of the fence?.....
No doubt 2013 will be an interesting one as well as a continuation of the "political games"....
Lets not forget that around Nov. Dec. of this year some numbers of the 2014 reassessment should be coming out.
ReplyDeleteNow thats going to be interesting all in itself.
I predict more "grant grabs" if the opportunity presents itself so that Gang members can avoid hard votes on new spending until the last minute and well after resources have been committed.
ReplyDeleteWhat type of "appointment"? Will it go to a "SWAC-arific" person who has plenty of idle time to cause problems that most working folks don't have the time for?
Interesting for it sounds alot like what goes on in DC with the upcoming debt ceiling issue. We have to pay the bills so shut-up already and sit down, but don't worry about the spending that got us into this problem.... ie: How will we pay for those paid rescue people down the road?.....
ReplyDeletePer the BOS meeting last night- it looks like there will be rumblings amongst the little people as to why Fishersville gets a huge paid fire staff and why the rest of county is expected to meet their own fire needs with the help of paid staff here and there. Pyles is going to be made to walk a fine line between defending his district and having supported the needs of Fishersville and his buddy Dr StrangeKurt at the expense of the rest of the County last term.
ReplyDeleteLast nights board meeting was a good one. Pyles showed his true colors once again. Its okay for him to critize what goes on in the other 6 districts, but dont you dare critize the faults of Pastures. The egg was on his face and he didnt like it. Especially with his speech last week of how Fire and Rescue in the County was fixed and strong. Yet his department of 90 volunteers and 6 paid staff were beat to the scene, which was less then 2/10ths of a mile from the station, by Staunton over 8 miles away. Ineteresting tidbit brought to light was that out of the 90 volunteers Pyles likes to boast about, less then 10 are trained to fight fires.
ReplyDeleteThe "Fisherville" issue was many things to many people...
ReplyDeleteIt already was a desire to serve the community to the volunteers...
It became a paid job to others...
It became "Bigger Government" to Augusta County...
And sadly, it became a political issue and opportunity to others...
